Get ready for the most fun “run” you’ve ever done - The 3rd Annual Side Pockets Barks, Brews & Running Shoes 0.5k BEER RUN! Yep, you read that right: this is a 0.5k, which is just 1/3 of a mile or 546 yards. That's 1,640 feet of running (or strolling) and beer-drinking fun! Now in our third year, this event just keeps getting bigger and better.

After a sizzling success last year, when we increased our runner participation by nearly 50% over our inaugural event in 2022, we're back for our third year of pavement pounding fun! Last year, with the help of our sponsors and runners we presented a check for $3,837 to the Kansas Humane Society. In 2025, our goal is to bring in over 250 runners and raise at least $5,000! We hope you’ll join us in sponsoring this one of a kind event!

The Kansas Humane Society’s legacy of caring began more than 134 years ago and in that time they’ve provided care, comfort, and most importantly, a fresh start at a new, happy life for hundreds of thousands of pets. From pet adoptions to behavior consultations, spay/neuter services, youth education, and more, KHS is all about building stronger bonds between pets and people. KHS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, completely funded by the generosity of our community – that means no federal, state, or local tax dollars, and no United Way funds. Every donation, sponsorship, and fee goes directly toward saving the lives of our furry friends.
